Introduction
DFC has a vacancy for a SHE Officer. We are looking for a high energy, passionate about safety individual that can assist with planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of occupational health, safety and environmental programmes to assure the highest possible degree of safety for our employees and compliance to relevant statutes.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
•Facilitates the implementation of standards according to the requirements of the OSHAS guidelines and ISO standards.
•Ensures the organisation is aware of and complies with, all legislation in relation to the use of its plant, equipment and substances, as well as in all workplace activities.
•Ensure records systems are maintained at Site in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.
•Promotes occupational health and safety within the organisation and encourages safer and healthier working practices.
•Determines training requirements and develops training plans.
•Conducts Risk Assessments and implements control measures.
•Develops and implements safety procedures including the training of employees on SHE practices.
•Updates and maintains safety policies and procedures at Site level.
•Ensures record systems are effectively maintained at site level in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.
•Preparation and participation in Safety related audits.
•Assist with the clearing of audit findings.
Requirements
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
•National Diploma Safety/ Environmental Management or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
•Minimum 3 years relevant SHE Experience.
•Experience in the Manufacturing Industry will be advantageous.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
•NOSA 5 Star System, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 systems.
•Strong people skills with an emphasis on persuading, influencing, relating and networking.
•Action and goal orientated with ability to apply expertise and technology.
•Strong values and principles orientation.
•Strong planning, organizing, administrative and researching skills.
•Team management.
